Mehdi Ibn Brahim
Ph.D Candidate in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship
I am a Ph.D Candidate at the Knowledge, Technology, and Organization Research Center (KTO) at SKEMA Business School.
My research interests lie at the intersection of strategy and entrepreneurship. I am particularly interested in attraction of strategic human capital in resources constrained organizations, and the differences in strategic implications for employees and firms. Empirically, I rely on both experiments and population-level linked employer-employee data from Portugal and Denmark to explore jobseekers–employers’ interactions.
While each paper of my dissertation individually explores a different stage of organizations’ hiring process, they collectively bridge these stages and aim to advance our understanding of labor market dynamics.
Overall, my work aims to contribute to the strategic human capital literature, the literature on the future of work, and the entrepreneurship literature. It has implications for hiring managers, jobseekers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers.
